Top 5 countries to visit in Latin America

Latin America is the last frontier of travelers: an enormous continent of great metropolises and wild nature. Which are the most beautiful countries in Latin America? Which South American and Central American countries are the most loved by every travel magazine, and can not miss the curriculum of the great travelers? From Argentina to Brazil and Costa Rica, here are the 5 Latin American countries to see. Each of these American countries is worth the trip of a lifetime!

Latin America is the part of the American continent that was colonized by newline speaking countries, namely Spanish-speaking America (where Spanish is spoken) and Portuguese-speaking America (where Portuguese is spoken). So, in essence, in this article we tell you about the 5 most beautiful countries of Latin America, those to visit absolutely.

  1. Brazil

Brazil is a huge country, the largest country in South America and the fifth largest in the world… Unthinkable to see it all in a few days of vacation, so if you want to discover more detailed info about the best tourist destinations in Brazil you should read this article. However, if you focus on the main destinations you can already take a few treats away: Rio de Janeiro is a wonderful city, from Christ the Redeemer and Corcovado to the sea of Copacabana, a daily parade of beauties in costume. For the beaches, after all, you’ll be spoilt for choice throughout the country! For nature, you can focus on the National Park of the Lençóis Maranhenses, known for the fabulous conformations of the white sand dunes, or on the Amazon rainforest, if the season allows it (the ideal place to visit is between May and June), or even on the Iguazú waterfalls, on the border with Argentina, a leap of water that has nothing to envy to the most famous waterfalls of Niagara!

  1. Costa Rica

There is a reason why small Costa Rica, in Central America, is among the happiest and most peaceful countries in the world: in this small region overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific is 6% of the world’s biodiversity, gathered in 33 nature parks (the most important are Corcovado National Park and the National Park Rincon de la Vieja), with over 200 mammals and ten thousand species of plants… So, from Costa Rica expect the wildest Latin America, to be discovered with jungle trekking, hiking and guided tours. And if you’re tired, remember that here there are still two oceans to use for relaxation, swimming or surfing. Or – again – the splendid natural spas of the Arenal Volcano.

  1. Argentina

Let’s start our review of the most beautiful countries in Latin America from Argentina: the great South American country, which extends to the southern tip of the continent, to the fabulous Land of Fire, satisfies the palates of the most diverse travelers. Buenos Aires is a dynamic capital full of culture, the birthplace of tango and still today its undisputed capital (so, the dancers are warned!). From the Casa Rosada (seat of the Presidency of the Republic) to the districts of Recoleta, Boca and Palermo, up to the Teatro Colòn, Buenos Aires is definitely worth a few days of your trip. That then, necessarily, must point to the Argentine Patagonia, to the extreme south – until you reach the Perito Moreno – one of the most spectacular glaciers in the world – and, perhaps, Ushuaia, the southernmost city on the continent, port of departure for Antarctica from which to dream of even more fabulous journeys!

  1. Bolivia

Bolivia is the only country in Latin America that has no landlocked land (along with Paraguay). So… expect the mountains! Bolivian mountains are particularly spectacular, and will put a strain on your body for the first few days: there are the Andes, of course, with altitudes over 6000 meters, but just think that the capital, La Paz, is 3660 meters above sea level! Once acclimatized, however, it will be worth it: between hiking and mountain biking on the “most dangerous road in the world” (which is also one of the most spectacular) do not miss to reserve a few days to Lake Titicaca and the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt desert in the world, a white expanse of a white that only in this part of Latin America you can see.

  1. Chile

Chile, among the countries of Latin America, boasts a strange record: it is the longest country and extends along a strip of coast bordered by the Andes for thousands and thousands of kilometers. In the center, with the capital Santiago, the most inhabited area: it is from here that your trip will probably start, and Santiago itself is worth a couple of days of visits, from the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino to the Cathedral to the central Mercado. Then, you can choose: if you prefer liveliness and culture, Valparaiso is one of the most beautiful port cities in Latin America, among the most fascinating in Chile. If you want to contemplate the wild nature at its best, head for the Atacama Desert, from which it is easy to move to Bolivia to visit the Salar de Uyuni. Or, again, on the Lake Region, or on the Torres del Paine National Park. The three “towers” of this granite massif are among the most famous images of Latin America. Along with another Chilean pride, although six hours away from Santiago, is Easter Island.
